We we really looking forward to the holiday as we had visited Corfu in June and had fallen in love withe Greece. Hotels on the tour were very different to each other. Good food, service in all of the hotels was excellent. The weather was perfect. Symi is beautiful. The only fly in the ointment was the very poor organisation and communication of the Saga team at the end of the holiday. We were delayed by nine hours at the airport, not Sagas fault, however on arriving at the airport it was very evident of the delay. All of the Thomas Cook customers stayed at their hotel for an additional six hours. We were left stranded at the airport with vouchers for our meal, nearly no air conditioning and the only updates was by good old Monarch Airways. Really poor communication and only after numerous emails on our return have Saga acknowledged the poor communication. What a poor ending to an excellent holiday. Will we think twice before booking with Saga again..don't hold your breath.

Thanks for your review – it’s good to read you enjoyed your holiday, but I’m sorry your journey home was less successful.
Unfortunately an unavoidable flight delay meant that Saga passengers experienced an extended wait at the airport prior to departure. I appreciate this must have been frustrating, but the airline made the request that Saga passengers wait at the airport, in case the flight was able to depart earlier than planned - an opportunity which wouldn’t have been afforded to other passengers waiting at their hotel.
Unfortunately a breakdown in communication on this occasion resulted in our Representative not being fully informed of the cause of the delay, or indeed the reasons for waiting at the airport – please accept our apologies that this was the case. We’re confident this was an isolated incident, but measures are in place to avoid a repeat of this situation.

Good value for money. A well balanced programme, attentive tour manager; food/drinks very satisfactory. The only reason we may not consider a saga holiday in the future is that most flight departures(Thomas Cook Airlines) are from Gatwick - we live in West Cornwall! The add cost of overnight accommodation/travel to Gatwick is not attractive. The option to pay a supplement from Bristol would be a consideration.
